PME Introduces Catherine Golubovsky as Participating Researcher in New Collaborative Program Celebrating PME’s 40th Anniversary

Precision Measurement Engineering (PME) introduces Catherine Golubovsky as a participating researcher in the recent launch of their collaborative New Researcher Program. Catherine is an undergraduate researcher at Dartmouth College where she is on track to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Earth Sciences in June 2023.

“We are thrilled to launch PME’s New Researcher Program as we celebrate 40 years of service. The participating researchers show the ambition and dedication needed in this field and we are eager to see how they will impact science for the better while utilizing PME technologies,” Kristin Elliott, PME, CEO.

In honor of PME’s 40^th anniversary, the New Researcher Program offers selected developing researchers tools and resources to support their research efforts. PME will provide Catherine with a 10% discount on her first PME product, a 5% discount on any additional orders, and the opportunity for paid conference registration with a $500 travel stipend through this program.

“The PME New Researcher Program is an opportunity for me to dive deeper into the world of research as I complete my undergraduate honors thesis and continue onto graduate studies. PME technology has and continues to be integral in my honors thesis research. I’m excited to work more closely with PME and grateful to be a part of this program,” Catherine said.

Studying the potential of cyanobacterial blooms, Catherine is dedicated to investigating whether lakes will be carbon sinks or carbon sources. She is using the miniDOT® Logger to track changes in dissolved oxygen in Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire over the course of the summer 2022 and will be able to use this multi-year data to evaluate the long-term productivity of the lake.

Along with using PME data collection instruments, Catherine plans on attending conferences to expand her research as well as broaden her connections in the research community. Catherine says, “I have the ability to meet scientists with similar interests as me by going to conferences that I would’ve not had the opportunity to participate in if it weren’t for PME.”

Catherine is a talented and extremely motivated emerging research scientist. She has already received numerous honors and awards including the Women in Science Project Engagement Award, Dickey Center for International Understanding Greenland Exchange Fellow, and Recipient of the Stefansson Arctic Research Fellowship. Her future goals include earning her doctorate and becoming a professor to share her fascination with the natural world while increasing diversity and inclusion in academia.
