The T-Chain is a waterproof electrical cable containing a range of integrated water quality sensors for continuous measurements of a water column. Every T-Chain is constructed on a semi-custom basis, with users specifying the length, interval, type and quantity of pre-constructed sensors included. The central electrical cable is manufactured specifically for PME, featuring a Kevlar reinforced core and waterproof polyurethane sheathing. The T-Chain has a maximum depth of 165 meters.

Product Features
Connection Requirements
The RS 232/485 T-Chain requires connection to a customer-supplied power source, and it emits calibrated measurements in accordance with RS232 and RS485 protocol. PME recommends the Campbell System Data Logger for the host logger system.
Calibration
Each T-Chain is calibrated at PME headquarters. Our unique method of calibrating sensors allow stability over years before recalibration is necessary.
Product Construction
The T-Chain electrical cable is specially manufactured for PME and features a thick overall polyurethane jacket, teflon jacketed highly stranded wires and interior kevlar core giving the T-Chain its excellent resistance to abrasion, tension and flexure. Each temperature sensor contains not only a thermistor, but also complex circuitry, all hermetically sealed in a waterproof containment.
SENSOR DESCRIPTIONS
PAR Sensors are plugged onto the T-Chain at customer-specified locations. These sensors use the Li-Cor LI-192SA Underwater Quantum Sensor.
Pressure Sensors are plugged onto the T-Chain and are typically located at the lower end of the T-Chain.
Other sensors are available for the T-Chain include the Turner Designs, Cyclops-7 Sensors including: Chlorophyll, Rhodamine, Fluorescein, Phycocyanin Optics - Blue-Green Algae (freshwater), CDOM/FDOM, Refined Fuels, Tryptophan and Turbidity.
Multiple sensors can be installed on a T-Chain, but typical T-Chains include one sensor.
